Our Program

Flat Stone Lick consists of 500 acres of pasture and cropland.  Our Polled Hereford cattle forage on grass for most of the year.  We feed hay through the fall until calving in January when we add a bit of corn silage to supplement their nutrition until the grass greens up in spring.

Our cattle offer exceptional maternal traits, temperament, and efficiency.  For over 70 years we have not deviated from our guiding principle to breed problem free, productive cattle.  This is our way of life, our passion, and our joy.

Our genetics feature nationally prominent sires used through artificial insemination.  We utilize sexed female semen as a major part of our breeding program.  We also have a selective ET and IVF program.

Our dedication to excellence drives us to continuously improve, by the genetics that we select, in the efficiency of our operation, and in our stewardship of the land – always striving to make things better.

We understand that our customers have options, and we appreciate that they come back to Flat Stone Lick.  We have been blessed to make friends with so many of those who have been our customers. We’d love to build a relationship with you.
